St. Peter’s Nursery Ministry

By Michelle Cambron

Debbie Fulham is finally back with us after a nasty ‘bout with strep throat and a trip to the hospital. She was out for about three weeks and we sincerely missed her. It is good to have her back in full force! So far, the rest of the Nursery staff are doing well!

We continue to have crowds of children in the Nursery on most Sundays. Our baby population has grown, and I am finding myself out recruiting more hands to come in and help our staff take care of these little ones.

Pre-junior Chapel is changing a little. I have implemented a new structure and curriculum and have trained all the Nursery staff on Sunday mornings last month to make sure they understand the format and all it entails. My plan is to have Debbie Fulham teach on most Sundays, with Cheryl, Hannah, and Aganya ready to take the reins for when needed. God-willing, this will keep our little ones busier so they to will have less time to get into trouble. We will continue to have Pre-Junior Chapel in the center room of the Nursery right now. However, our goal is to move Pre-Junior Chapel back into the Noah Room to establish a separate program from our Nursery.

We continue to have a Weekday Nursery on Thursday mornings open for the Al-Anon group and World Outreach volunteers. Jayne Bickerstaff has been so faithful. She takes good care of all our little ones and has plenty for them to do with creative crafts and lessons. Debbie Fulham has been working with her and cannot say enough about how wonderful Jayne is. We are so blessed!

This month the Nursery Staff will have to renew their Infant/Child CPR Certifications. I have found a wonderful woman who is a certified trainer from the American Heart Association who will come to our facility to train for less than the cost of our staff going to the American Red Cross.

Prayer Focus: Please continue to pray for the Nursery Ministry, the families it serves, and our staff. Pray for health for all the families this ministry impacts as well as the health of our staff. Pray for patience and wisdom in handling difficult situations sometimes with the children. Thank you for your prayerful faithfulness.
